Describe the complete arrangement
A frameless glass entrance can include moving leaves, fixed side panels and an overpanel. Draw the whole arrangement and mark the opening direction. The hardware list depends on that layout, so a close-up photograph of one fitting is only a starting point.
Measure the leaf and glass
Record the exact glass thickness, type, leaf dimensions and estimated weight. Use consistent units. Do not copy dimensions from an unrelated catalogue page: the required limits and preparation depend on the proposed model and configuration.
Coordinate the pivot interfaces
A floor spring, bottom patch and upper pivot need matching interfaces. For replacement work, provide the spindle profile, centre positions, cement box dimensions and existing fitting references. Ask for compatibility review before confirming a replacement.
Confirm glass preparation before fabrication
Provide hole positions and cut-out drawings with revision numbers. Confirm them against the selected fittings before the glass is fabricated. A visually similar cover is not proof that two fittings use identical glass preparation.
Include operating and procurement needs
Describe the closing behaviour, locking arrangement, visible finish and quantities. Identify installation conditions, the destination and required project documentation. Ask whether the proposed scope includes pivots, inserts, locks, cover plates and fixings.
Create a complete inquiry
Keep the layout, component list, dimensions and finish reference in one package. If information is missing, identify it clearly. This helps suppliers distinguish a preliminary suggestion from a configuration ready for order confirmation.
